Bluebird Hills will provide you with written documentation about the alpaca you are interested in. We will work hard to help you to feel comfortable with owning alpacas and we promise to assist you every step of the way with all facets of your alpaca venture, from alpaca selection to shots, from farm set up to fleece characteristics. Having raised alpacas for over 12 years, we can answer your questions, and if we don't know the answer, we will know where to find it.

Our alpacas have demonstrated robust health with each generation.
Our females have been free of reproductive challenges. Bluebird Hills dams conceive easily. They retain pregancies to full term. Our dams birth easily. Very importantly they have plenty of milk.
Our alpacas possess sound conformation that will carry them well into older age.
Our lines demonstrate parasite tolerance that keeps the herdsman from constant worry about worming.
All of these traits translate to ease of care, making your life as an alpaca owner easier.

We have made buyer education the centerpiece of our farm and are always willing to share our knowledge and experience with new and established breeders alike. Now that robustness and strong conformation is locked into our herd, we are concentrating on adding fineness to our cria's fleeces, but doing so without compromizing the gains we have made with our lines.
Bluebird Hills is a full service farm, offering breeding, boarding, and birthing services. We sell both suri and huacaya alpacas on our organic farm located in Southwestern Ohio and we have a wide range of alpacas to meet the needs of different breeders and fiber artists. We have been raising alpacas since 1997 and are willing to share our experience and knowledge with you.
Laurel attends veterinary conferences and works very hard to keep abreast of what is happening in the alpaca community. She is also training to become an AOBA judge taking her fleece and conformation knowledge to the next level.
We were farmers before entering the alpaca business, and therefore had the infrastructure in place before we purchased our first stock. Combine this with the fact that we do almost all of the work involving our animals ourselves, and you have low overheads. This means we can sell alpacas at lower prices. But don't confuse our lower prices with lower quality! Our alpacas do very well at the shows, produce gorgeous fleece, birth easily, and are great milkers.
