We started in 2002 with Jacob sheep (rare) and llamas as guards and then began to train guard llamas for others, leasing a number of llamas, most of whom were sold to the leasees.
In 2006, we acquired another facility that was used as a quarantine for an alpaca ranch and so, we discovered alpacas and how comfortably they worked as weanling companions. So, in 2007, we got our very own alpacas (2) as weanling companions and for our llamas to experience guarding them.
Also in 2007, we traded some Jacob sheep to a farm in AR and acquired two more rare breeds, Navajo-Churros and Cottswolds. So, in addition to four types of camelid fiber, we also have three different types of sheep fiber for the fiber enthusiast.
We often do special events and take livestock to nursing homes (Oct 4 Ashland OH), parades, Christmas pageants (7 in Columbus 2006-2008) and birthday parties. In late October (24) we took camelids and sheep to a Harvest Fest in Ashland OH near Mansfield OH. Also on Oct 30 we entertained two groups coming to look at (and take home?) llamas or alpacas and black sheep.
Do you need a special payment plan? Only $500 down will hold your choice of stock under 3K and monthly payments arranged per written mutual agreement.
