We have always had animals on our small farm. Dawn has always had horses or ponies. We have also had a few beef cattle, cats, dogs, chickens and other farm animals over the years.

Having been past three of the local alpaca farms hundreds of times, we decided to go to the Oak Hollow Alpaca Sampler in September of 2005. There were several area alpaca farms at the Sampler, and after asking many questions we decided that we would like to start our own alpaca farm. We bought 2 pregnant females from Blumoon Valley Alpacas and 1 pregnant female and a 6 month old boy and a 6 month old girl from Oak Hollow Alpacas.
