Welcome to Maine Woods Alpacas where life is fine. We don’t think there is a more satisfying endeavor than raising alpacas. Starting in 2007 we began purchasing our foundation herd based on our goal to breed for improvement of fleece quality and quantity and do it in color. We love dark rich browns and are producing the next generation with fineness without sacrificing other important characteristics. Our herd includes some colorful bloodlines including; Request the Best, Wiley Coyote, Bolivian Black Thunder, Wira Cocha, Sollocota, Kenamori Gold and some not so colorful such as Caligula, Grand Master, and Fosters Cerveza. We have since grown to be home to 14 alpacas, 14 chickens, 6 guinea fowl, 1 special black lab and 3 down to earth people who are reaping the benefits of a peaceful existence. We are very excited about our upcoming births as we expect some exceptional cria and can’t wait to show them. Our newest addition born 7/02/10, a brown male appears to be just what we have been working towards, lots of fine crimpy brown fleece. He is beautiful. Thank you Delores! His dad PC Awesome should be very proud.
