Alpaca Breeder Farm
You can tour the nursery and meet the new babies or laugh with the Jr. Varsity boys as they work out their new plays. You can visit our fiber processing area where our fabulous fleeces begin their journey to fine fashion. And, of course, there's Broonie, our kissing alpaca - you have to meet him.
Our store offers a wide variety of alpaca products. Hand spun and mill spun yarns in both natural and fun dyed colors...raw fleeces, rovings and bats for spinners and felters...finished products, some hand-made from local craftspeople, some commercially produced - all wonderfully luxurious. Have you ever tried alpaca socks? Once you have you will never want to wear anything else!
Or you can just sit on the porch and enjoy the day.
For tours and demonstrations, please call Anne for an appointment - 505-310-3369. We can also arrange to open the store by appointment if our regular hours don't work for you.
NEW BREEDER? EXPERIENCED BREEDER? THINKING ABOUT BECOMING A BREEDER? WE'D LOVE TO HAVE YOU COME BY...WE JUST LOVE TO TALK ALPACA! GIVE US A CALL AND LET'S SET SOMETHING UP.
Our primary breeding goals are to produce show quality Huacaya breeding stock. We look for microscopic micron, impressive density, long staples, well organized bundles and consistent crimp, and, of course, blinding brightness. But beyond that we are specifically focused on perpetuating the fineness and density we are currently producing... that is, we look for genetic lines that hold their micron count within 4 to 5 micron throughout their lives. We have produced several champion males and females and their offspring are winning blue ribbons and championships in the ring today.
We also have a few pet quality/fiber animals - both male and female. If we don't have what you are looking for, we probably know someone that does. We've been around for awhile.
We are a full service farm - we offer sales, breedings, and agisting services. We are also currently brokering sales for another breeder. Please check out the "Services Provided" page for details. Anne is a bona fide fiber nerd, having studied the craft of fiber sorting and grading under Ruth Elvstad and taking many other fiber arts and fiber processing seminars and classes. She also spins, dyes, felts, and crochets.
Que Sera Farm is located 7000 feet above sea level, nestled at the foot of the towering Sangre de Cristo Mountains just 20 minutes southeast of the historic Santa Fe Plaza Our location in the high desert plateaus of northern New Mexico affords us cool summer evenings and cold dry winters - perfect for these fleece producing animals.
