Hi Folks,
You heard it right - Brooklyn, New York. I'm Phil Aron, and I, with my wife
Shelly, raise alpacas in Brooklyn. When people hear that the most
common reaction is: Brooklyn?! "Where do you keep alpacas in Brooklyn?
And we answer: "On the beach in Coney Island, where we walk them every
evening."

But seriously, one day, eight years ago, I got a phone call from a friend
telling me to turn on the TV. I saw a woman with wonderful, angelic
animals - alpacas of course. She claimed she was making a living selling
them and experiencing a stress-free lifestyle to boot!
Well, that was all I had to hear. I did some on-line research to learn
about alpacas and the lifestyle and eventually made a few farm visits.
We were very fortunate to meet Steve McCarthy and Jeff Lick, owners of
Spruce Ridge Farm, who became our mentors over the years. Now all of
our alpacas are boarded at their farm.

Brooklyn Alpacas specializes in suris. We believe in breeding quality
genetics to obtain the best fiber in the world. We take our breeding
decisions very seriously and now advise other breeders in making good
decisions.

We also agist all our alpacas and can help new owners with any
questions they may have regarding agisting.

Yes, an alpaca really does grow in Brooklyn.
