Alpaca Breeder Farm
We are a typical small alpaca farm currently owning and co-owning 14 Suri alpacas and a guard llama.
We have selected females that we are breeding to fine Suri bloodlines. We are emphasizing color in our breeding program, especially black, but have included Accoyo bloodlines to further diversify our herd. We own part interest in Zumaya, a 3/4 Accoyo herdsire and in true black future herdsire, Alepaca's Krull the Warrior King. We also own Hartman's Rocko 90, a future true black herdsire.
We are progessing with the fiber aspect of alpaca farming. Skirting fleeces, processing fleeces into rovings, drop spindle spinning, entering fleeces in fleece shows and spin-offs and dyeing fleeces are some of the "new trades" learned in the last year. As alpaca farmers we feel we owe it to our industry to promote fleeces and products to the general public so we have a viable future market.
After agisting for nearly two years and learning the ropes, we purchased our farm on Park Avenue West (State Route 309) just west of Mansfield, Ohio in Ontario.
