Alpaca Breeder Farm
Located on the WV/VA State line, 15 miles W of Winchester, VA and 80 miles W of Washington, DC, Bear Garden Farms is a hands-on farm, dedicated to our alpacas, our clients & our alpaca community at large. Whether you own alpacas, (or wish you did!), or you have experienced the warmth, softness and lightness of alpaca products, Bear Garden Farms is a full service farm that is able to satisfy your alpaca needs!
We have exquisitely fleeced alpacas available for purchase if you would like to expand or start your herd &/or grow your own fiber. We can also provide you with unique, hand-crafted products… we pride ourselves on being a truly one stop shop for our clients and customers!
Our on farm store, Fleecy Cria’tions, offers raw fiber for hand spinners and needle & wet felters, as well as a vast array of handmade items, including needle punched garments. Also available at our farm store are a limited number of unique clothing items imported from Peru.
If you are looking for processed fiber, right around the corner from our farm is our fiber processing mill, Capon Bridge Fiber Works, (www.CaponBridgeFiberWorks.com). Our mill handpicks quality producing alpaca farms from around the U.S. to purchase fiber from. We then processes & offer it for sale at our mill gallery. We also carry wool yarns from local handspinners. Both mill and handspun fiber is available in an array of natural and dyed colors. Also on display at the Gallery are home décor items custom made from alpaca fiber courtesy of Silken Alpaca Textiles (see below for more information). In addition to fiber products, the Gallery also showcases consignments from a variety of local artisans. Featured items include hand carved wooden utensils, turned bowls, pottery, photography, jewelry, and much more.
