Barbossa is gentle and easy to handle. This shy guy has great, dense fleece with good crimp and soft handle, good face coverage and great leg coverage. No surprise when you look at his pedigree!

Barbossa had a great showing at the 2009 Southern Select - getting a 1st place fleece and a 2nd place halter. The halter class was so close, that the judge brought Barbossa side by side with a Magical Farms boy for comparison. Barbossa got 2nd, but it was close!! He followed this up with a 2nd place Halter at the Palmetto Alpaca Classic in April!!

His father, MFI Peruvian Navarone is an incredible medium brown herdsire from High Meadow Alpacas and Magical Farms. He is a top son of the deceased, legendary Peruvian Dakotia from Magical Farms. Navarone's Grandsire is Peruvian Bueno, one of the all-time great herdsires, and his half-brother is Peruvian Jericho, a top herdsire at Magical Farms and is sold out at $7500 a breeding for the next two years! Navarone's uncle, MFI Pistol, sold in 2006 for $230K. Even Navarone's Mom is a multiple blue ribbon winner! Navarone has received over 24 major show ribbons so far (including multiple First Place and Reserve Champion awards) and was one of the top priced alpacas sold at the record setting 2004 Breeder's Choice Auction.

Barbossa had his first cria (Diez)(with our Lady Charlotte) and he's started out right, giving me a GIRL with wonderful fleece! Diez placed 1st in the 2012 Carolina Alpaca Classic in fleece, 3rd in halter at Southern Select, 1st and COLOR CHAMPION at Southern Select fleece!!!
