Moondoggie is one the newest addition to Abra-Cadabra Alpacas grey herdsire line up. In our pursuit to have very diversified bloodlines, but also a soft fine hadlr to the fleece, he was chosen for many reasons:
1. He is a son of 6-time CHAMPION of CRESCENT MOON'S RAYO DEL SOL, himself a Danko son, and the son of NeverSummer's MONSOON, 1st place and RESERVE COLOR CHAMPION 2003 GWAS.

2. He is maintaining his excellent fleece quality as he gets older. 4 year histogram MFD 22.9, SD 4.7, CV 20.7, 5.5%>30.

3. His 2008 cria, Gravitas, is a gorgeous example of what Moondoggie is capable of producing. Gravita's 2 year histogram is MFD 18.0, SD 3.3, CV 18.5,0.7%>30. VERY, VERY NICE for a medium silver grey. At Mopaca, his only show in 2010, Gravitas places 3rd (over a 10-time Champion)The judge commented that Gravitas was the finest and the densest in the class.

4. NeverSummer's Farms chose to breed Moondoggie back to Gavitas's dam over their World Champion .38 Special. Breeding didn't happen before Moondoggie left the farm, unfortunately.

5. Moondoggie is also a half-brother on his dam's side to NeverSummer's Black Ice. Black Ice was awarded "Supreme Champion Huacaya Male" at the 2007 Mason City, Iowa International show by Dr.Julio Sumar and Su Lenk(UK)! This is the award given to the top male huacaya of the entire show, regardless of age or color, and rarely goes to a non-white alpaca, let alone a black. Dr.Sumar called Black Ice "a perfect black alpaca".

6. His very correct conformation and body type.
