CONGRATULATIONS to our good friends over at Flying Pony Alpacas on their purchase of 1/2 interest in our girl Steeple View's Mesquite's Aurora.

We welcome into our herd Steeple View's Mesquite's Aurora. She is a beautiful 1/4 Allianza dark brown female with black points.

She hails from some awesome genetics on both sides of her family tree. She is the daughter of MFI Peruvian Black Mesquite.

Mesquite is one of the top black herdsires in the country. Mesquite has one of the nicest black fleeces in the industry with amazing crimp, handle and density. This black fleece is truly unmatched. Like his incredible sire before him (4Peruvian Matador) Black Mesquite is already producing champion offspring: Ineffable, Butterball, Panasche and Oil Slick to name a few. His rock-solid color genetics and incredible dense, crimpy fleece makes this pre-potent male "one-of-a-kind". His outside breedings are limited. We are excited to see his genetic impact on our herd. Imagine what this girl should produce as she gets older.

Aurora's dam Respect is no slouch either, with the genetics of Dundee's Peruvian Rob Roy, Lanark's Silver Charm, Augusta and the Silversmith she has consistently placed in every show. She is incredibly dense and her coloring is memorable.


At 1 month old Aurora's cria fleece could only be summed up with 1 word. Stunning! Her luster and crimp are candy for the eye. She is absolutely beautiful.

Aurora's fleece is drop dead gorgeous. As 2 large farms put it "the 2nd best Mesquite daughter they have ever seen" beautiful shine and absolutely incredible crimp with extreme density. This girl is the total package. We know we can't keep them all but Aurora is a keeper. We are adding this girl to our foundation herd.

Aurora is bred to 588 Peruvian Lancaster. This should be an awesome pairing and 2012 can't get here fast enough.

UPDATE 5/12/12 Aurora has give us a stunning DB female sired by Lancaster. This little girl is the spitting image of her dam. Could not ask for anything better. Pics to come soon.
