Creating Your AlpacaStreet.com
Breeder Program Web Site

Once you have signed up for membership in the Breeder Program, you will want to get up and running as soon as possible.  For this reason, we have developed the following procedures to help make the experience involve a minimum of time and effort.

Create your Farm Page

1. Log on to AlpacaStreet.com
2. Click the "Farm Page" button under "My AlpacaStreet.com" on your Control Panel
3. Create your own web site address (URL) by inserting your farm name (or some anything else).  Your URL will be "www.alpacastreet.com/(your farm name).asp
4. In the Farm Name field, type in your farm name the way you want it to appear on your Farm Page and on all the alpaca pages.
5. Tell your farm story in the "Farm Info" field.  There is plenty of space, so while you don't want to be boring, this is your chance to provide the compelling reasons why people would want to do business with you!
6. Enter a video on your farm page by loading it onto You Tube and loading the You Tube code in the field provided.  More Info
7. Click "Save"
8. Click "Images"
9. Load your logo
10. Load up to 3 pictures

Note on Pictures:  If you know how to reduce pictures, do so prior to loading.  Normally, pictures under 20K are fine and will load quickly, satisfying the impatient visitor to your site.  If you simply re-size all your pictures to 250 px wide at 72 ppi resolution, you will find they load quickly.  If you need help with sizing, let us know.

Now, Load Your Herd!

1. From the list of links on the left side of your screen, click "My Alpaca Roster".
2. On the top right side of the page, click "Add-a-Paca"
3. Select "type" , "sex" and insert name and ARI # (ARI# isn't necessary to move on.)
4. Click "Add Alpaca"
5. Fill in ALL information you can.  Make sure you fill in the DOB and the Due Date for Females Bred.
6. Select Heritage
7. Insert significant bloodlines in the next field.  This information will be used for breeders doing searches and who indicate the bloodlines in which they are interested.
8. The micron info and ribbons won info pertain to the Price to Quality Ratio.  For more information Click Here
9. The Description field is huge, so describe away!
10. List all awards received.
11. Click "Save"
12. Click "images"
13. Load up to 6 images (See "Note on Pictures" above).  You can change position of any picture by clicking the "up arrow" and it will trade places with teh picture above it.
14. Click "View" to see the completed page
15. Click "Alpaca Roster"
16. Click the box next to the new listing to display the alpaca and include it in the Alpaca Search date base.  MAX members can load up to 1000 alpacas, and Basic members can load up to 10 alpacas.

So, now you have created your farm page and loaded one alpaca.  If you are ready to load another one, Click "Add-A-Paca" and start again!
