Breeder Profile - Black Walnut Alpacas
Our alpaca journey started when we were looking for a way to utilize our property in a fun and profitable manner. We began investigating the alpaca lifestyle in April of 2006 and decided to make a purchase of two females and one cria in August of 2006. Since then we have grown to love these adorable and rewarding creatures. What started out as an investment opportunity has turned into a passion and source of daily fulfillment. START
Black Walnut Alpacas is a small, intimate farm providing a full range of services – before, during and after the sale. We have a desire to form relationships with our customers – interacting, helping and education others as we once were. We will assist you with all your needs and feel confident that you will appreciate our personal hands-on approach.
Two services that we would like to hi-light are boarding and shearing. In 2007, we built a new barn that is designed specifically for alpacas. We have the ability to separate alpacas into smaller stalls and tailor our space to meet their needs. We also have a winter birthing room that enables us to provide care for little winter cria. Also in 2007, David was trained by Matt Best in how to shear alpacas. Since then, he has traveled among the local community and provided shearing services to many farms. In 2009, he will continue these services and if you are in need, please contact us and we will be happy to set up an appointment.
We invite you and your family to come along with us and experience the serenity that can be found at Black Walnut Alpacas.
