The Rick Horn Guide to Effective Medicine Use

Penicillin (antibiotics)
Naxcel (antibiotics)
SMZ tablets (antibiotics, coccidia)
"Gee, Bossie has a weepy eye. I'll give her one shot of Naxcel. About 2cc's
ought to do it" "Nope, that didn't work, I'll give her penicillin tomorrow"

Epinephrine (allergic reaction)
"Gee, Bossie still has a weepy eye. Maybe it's allergies. I'll give her a
shot of epinephrine. About 2cc's ought to do it" "I wonder why she died?"

Banamine (anti inflammatory)
"Gee, Flossie doesn't look like she feels good. I'll give her some
banamine." Yep, that seems to have made her feel better" "Gee, she's not
feeling well again. I'll give her banamine again, that fixed it before."
"The banamine's not working any more, as it did the last 4 days. Maybe I should
call the vet?" "No, I'll see what they say on alpacasite, and call the vet
Monday if I need to"
"I wonder why Flossie's cria was stillborn?"

Oxytocin (helps let milk down on new dam)
"Gee, Hossie doesn't seem to have a lot of milk. About 2cc's of oxytocin
ought to do it" "I wonder if that big red meaty thing is part of the
placenta?"

It is imperative that you not only have these products, but that you know how to use them. And even if you think you know how to use them, reviewing the application with your vet PRIOR to using the medicine is always prudent! And, when they expire, throw them out! If you throw them out without using them, GREAT! It was an insurance policy worth having.
