"Free" vs "Value"

We at AlpacaStreet.com pride ourselves in being the best VALUE in alpaca marketing. For the modest amount of $150, breeders have access to the most innovative and comprehensive marketing tools available on the internet. We are executing a sound business plan to assure growth and longevity that our paid membership can rely upon. We encourage our membership to engage in sound business principles as well; principles that will help them achieve growth and longevity, too.

Other websites have been bantering around the word "FREE" recently, as if it represented a great benefit to someone. Establishing the price for a product as "FREE" can result in the diminishing of the perceived value of not only that product, but all like products in the market place. One might also question the viability of a business that was giving its products or services for free.

One marketing site has introduced a new feature that encourages members to mark hard to sell alpacas as "FREE". Another site boasts of the terrific growth of their FREE website. And in an amazing bit of irony, the second site is now criticizing the first for offering the FREE function.

While they argue about who can give what away for free, AlpacaStreet.com will continue to provide the alpaca market with the best VALUE in marketing. Instead of concentrating on how many dollars we can get from you, we concentrate on how much we can give you for every dollar you spend. That’s value, and that’s our business model. We aren’t the biggest and we aren’t the one giving it away for free. As an alpaca breeder, I have never wanted to be the biggest and I sure don't want to be the cheapest. I want to be the best value, by giving my customers more than they expect and optimizing their potential for success.

The answer is neither free websites nor free alpacas. The answer is to build value into the industry. It can be done.
