Re-sizing pictures using MicroSoft Paint
When your photographs come out of your digital camera, they are often far larger than they need to be to the internet. Picture files that are too large can slow down the loading process and sometimes get rejected by the system trying to upload them. There are many ways to re-size your pictures to avoid this problem. One such way is to use Microsoft Paint.
To re-size photographs using MicroSoft Paint:
- Open Paint in your computer
- Click the blue "Paint" button on the top left
- Click "Open" to go to you picture file
- Click on the picture you wish to re-size
- Paint may ask "Save Changes?" right away. Select "No" (You will save later)
- Click "Resize" on the tool bar (upper left area)
- Select "Resize by pixels"
- Change horizontal dimension to 250 (for use on AlpacaStreet)
- Click "OK" at bottom
- Click "Save" icon on top left
This entire process only takes a few seconds, once you get used to it. After you complete the resizing, you can then upload the next picture, and go through the process again.
