AlpacaStreet's first great online event for 2012!
The Great American Alpaca Swap is a great way for you to improve, enlarge, or reduce your herd without spending a lot of money.
Beginning Janaury 16, AlpacaStreet will showcase select alpacas from member farms that are available for trade. Everyone is invited to look over these alpacas to find just the right ones to fit their breeding goals. This exciting event will provide you with a unique opportunity to position yourself for where you want to be in the alpaca industry!
Improve, Enlarge or Reduce Your Herd!
Think of the potential to bring in genetics to your herd that you previously could not have afforded! You can enlarge your herd by trading that special alpaca you do not need for two or three from another farm. Or, reduce your herd by trading a package of your alpacas in exchange for that special alpaca from another breeder.
Expand The Possibilities!
Nothing is more exciting in baseball's off-season, then multi-team deals. Team A sends a player to Team B, who in turn sends a couple players to Team C, who then completes the deal by sending a player or two to Team A. Here's how you apply this in the Great American Alpaca Swap: You find the alpaca or package you want. If the owner isn't interested in what you have to offer in return, find out what they want and then find the breeder who has it. Then make a deal with that breeder, and start getting things in motion!
Get Creative!
When you find the alpaca you really want, don't limit your bargaining power to your alpacas on hand! Think of anything you have to offer, including: farm equipment; business services; farm services, time shares, RV's, cars, etc. I think you get the picture!
