| About TerraSoLuna Alpacas
TerraSoLuna Alpacas is dedicated to the development of outstanding huacaya alpacas. By breeding a select combination of superior lineages based on conformation, fleece traits and offspring produced - not solely bloodlines, or country of origin - we believe we are "criating" some of the most uniformly fleeced alpacas America has to offer. TSL is committed to the continual improvement of its herd through careful breeding for fleece characteristics that include density, brightness, crimp, and fineness with increasing uniformity of handle. We are striving to obtain useable uniform fiber coverage into the neck and shoulder region and down the legs. Our goals include exceptional staple length, uniformity of handle, and high blanket weights, while maintaining low histogram results WELL into maturity. We are emphasizing breeding for lustrous, solid colors, a correct and well-balanced conformation and bite, an even temperament and reproductive soundness. Our ultimate goal is to produce prepotently superior North American Alpacas that consistently produce well-balanced offspring that generate high quality fiber for processing into distinctive and incomparable end-products. Raising alpacas is a rewarding experience on many levels. This is a wonderful business that can provide additional income and can offer substantial tax benefits, but realize that raising alpacas can be more than just a business.
