Many people have asked, "How did you come up with the name, Kismet?" The word "Kismet" means fate or destiny, and we feel that owning our farm and our alpacas certainly fit that definition.

Thinking about our future retirement and a more stress-free lifestyle, we left the fast paced environment of the Washington/Baltimore area in 2000, and moved to West Virginia with our 2 horses, dogs, and cats. We searched for many months in hopes of locating the right property, and were fortunate enough to finally find it, in Capon Bridge, WV, not far from the Shenandoah Valley and only 20 miles from Winchester, VA. Several years later, in 2006, we discovered the amazing world of ALPACAS!

Whether you are a new alpaca owner or seasoned vet, our herd offers something for everyone. At Kismet Acres Farm, lush pastures, scenic views, and a friendly atmosphere await you, as well as our sweet alpacas that are "huggable" and approachable. We spend a lot of time interacting with all our animals, not just for herd health, but on a daily basis. Dave does a great job with their halter training.

We have a great array of alpaca products in our store, including 100% natural alpaca yarn (from our own animals), raw fleece, roving, batts, and felt squares. And, did we mention GCS? Why, Great Customer Service, of course!!

Our goal at Kismet Acres Farm is to breed Huacaya alpacas for conformation, diversity of color, temperament, and most importantly, quality of fiber, while delivering the very best in customer service and support. We offer many great bloodlines such as Royal Fawn, Accoyo Titan, Snowmaster, Camillio, Accoyo GrandTriumph, HDF Prince Phillip, Caligula, Jericho, Shaquille, Peruvian Matador, LTD Predictor, El Moustachio, Hemingway, Guellermo, Peruvian Bonanza, and genetics of Accoyo, Alianza, Sollocata, and Acero Marka. Our Herdsires support many of these names as well, and, we invite you to meet them.

If you are looking for that fiber or "pet quality" alpaca (perhaps for the kids as a 4H project), show quality animal, are interested in breeding your female(s) to any of our "STELLAR" males, or would like to browse our shop for products, yarn, or fleece, we invite you for a visit. Join us for a cup of coffee or Dave's famous ice tea; we'd love to show you our farm and share our ideas and experiences.
