Our quality herd of around 60 alpacas is helping support programs of eco-justice education, organic agriculture and fiber skills.

This top quality herd of alpacas was established at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind., (near Terre Haute) in 1998 as part of the organic farming and sustainable agriculture programs at White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence.

Respecting the fact that all life is interconnected and interdependent, it was important to our farm to reintroduce livestock as a necessary component of our organic farming system. That was accomplished with the arrival of the alpacas. We chose to invest in the highest quality animals possible to build a first-rate breeding program. Well-known quality bloodlines run throughout our herd: Accoyo Caligula, Accoyo Royal Fawn, Accoyo Augusto, Dom Lucilio, Snowmass Casanova, Providence Rennes, Accoyo Maverick, Accoyo Godfather, Black Mesquite, Accoyo Lancaster, Snowmass Odyssey, Snowmass Amore, and Accoyo Express to name a few.

Our beautiful and peaceful farm is located in Western Indiana, just off I-70, about 3 miles North of West Terre Haute, on route 150.

Alpaca breeding and sales of top bloodlines, outstanding support and service, a fiber program that includes spinning, weaving and felting with limited garment sales, a spirituality of hope and healing, and educational programming on a variety of sustainable living issues are all key elements of White Violet Center. Income from White Violet Farm Alpacas allows us to continue other programs such as environmental education for all ages, sustainable building (straw bale house)and organic gardens and orchards.
