Alpaca Breeder Farm
We purchased our farm for growing organic vegetables. We used composted horse manure to fertilize the gardens. We still do the veggie gardens but now we use alpaca manure and alpacas have become our main endeavor and love. We have made new and wonderful friends, both in and out of the pastures.
Our breeding program to champion herdsires like Mr. Pennsylvania and RA Valente have yielded wonderful quality offspring. We also have great genetics from Royal Fawn, Apollo, Portland Kid, Leon, Augusto, Justice and more.
We maintain a fully stocked alpaca clothing store on the farm. We carry men's, women's and children's items as well as yarn from our animals. Stop by and purchase an alpaca or alpaca garments or just learn about these unbelievably wonderful animals.
The Bell House Story.
History Galore! Our house, built in 1792, was a one day coach ride from downtown Baltimore. At days end, the coaches would arrive at the bottom of the hill at the Gunpowder River, just before our house. The horses were usually too tired to pull the coach to the top or our hill, where there was an Inn to spend the night. There was a large bell the travelers rang to request assistance. The owner of our house would take draft horses down and pull them up the hill. The travelers would lodge at the inn, keep the horses in our barn, rest overnight and go on their way in the morning. Hence, we live in what was once called "The Bell House".
There is more history to hear about the house when you visit. But, the history we are creating is a lineage of 1st Class Alpacas coupled with 1st Class service after the sale.
