Jeff & Leslie Jorritsma and their 5 daughters own a 70 acre farm, right in the heart of the finger lakes. We started our alpaca "venture" about 5 1/2 years ago when we purchased our first 13 bred females from a local farm. With both Jeff & Leslie having raised animals all their lives, we both fell in love with the ease of raising alpacas, we soon discovered our desire to go one step further and in February of 2007 we opened Autumn Mist Fiber Mill at our farm and have been going strong ever since. Leslie runs the fiber mill full time and Jeff concentrates on the animals including breeding and showing, the girls help out with the farming and with the mill. This has turned out to be such a wonderful family adventure, Leslie's parents have even stepped in and helped with preparing with the shows and even helping in the mill.
In 2010 K-Ran Alpacas joined in the farm & Mill and 2011 brought Autumn Kiss Alpacas to the farm, now the three farms offer service and support like no other-from marketing your farm store and yarn to herd evaluations and training, personalized sales and service with the animals and processing fiber and ongoing support long after the sale of animals.

The fiber Mill located on the farm is a complete mill including an industrial washer made specifically for washing fiber, a picker, 2 dehairers (to remove guard hair, vegetation and short uneven fiber), 2 carders to make batting or rovings, a draw frame, 2 8 ply spinners, a 4 ply plyer, steamer, cone winder, skein winder, a dye vat. We are in the process of expanding our mill building and bringing on more full time help to increase turn around time. Our mission has been and will continue to be quality yarn.
